The FSCA will host online workshops on irregularity reports and on funeral parlours this month and in December.
The workshops are free of charge, but attendance is limited to the first 1 300 people who register. The platform is MS Teams.
Workshop 1. The different types of irregularity reports

- When must the reports be lodged?

Workshop 2. Funeral parlours that are FSPs: requirements under the FAIS Act and the Long-term Insurance Act
Date and time: Wednesday, 7 December, 9am to 12pm

- Licensing and competency requirements in terms of the FAIS Act
- Who must be registered as representatives?
- Underwriting requirements
- Policy administration and data requirements
- Premium collection and remittance to the insurer
- Financial statements and section 19(3) reports
- Claims handling and payment to beneficiaries
- Applicable exemptions
