Our first two workshops, held in Johannesburg and Pretoria, drew very positive comment from attendees. Two more are scheduled for Cape Town (17 September) and Durban (18 September).
It appears that the folk in KZN are way ahead of the rest of the country in terms of understanding these complicated issues, as they have the lowest number of registrations.
The presentation has two focus areas:
- Binder agreements are put under the spotlight in terms of Information Letter 3, which provides practical guidelines from the Regulator.
- The discussion Paper on Third-Party Cell Captives which focuses on the FSB’s concern that “…certain aspects of third-party cell captive insurance business models, as well as business models that approach third-party cell captive arrangements in nature (similar arrangements), create risks for insurers, policyholders and effective supervision.”
If any of these affect your business model, even if you live in Durban, you should not miss the workshop.
