Bonitas Medical Fund celebrated the achievements of its broker network at the third annual Top Broker Awards, held at a gala event in Sandton on 7 March. The event recognised brokers, financial advisers, and brokerages for their role in driving the growth and success of the scheme.

A total of 28 awards were handed out across various categories and tiers.

The winners were selected following an evaluation process conducted by Bonitas actuaries and independent consultants.

The awards recognised achievements in areas such as net growth and the onboarding of new principal members during 2024, with performance-based awards in bronze, silver, gold, and platinum categories.

“I can proudly share that Bonitas successfully enrolled over 55 000 new principal members in 2024, a trajectory that continued into 2025,” Callakoppen said. “In fact, we saw the highest-ever January take-on in the history of the scheme, with over 13 000 families enrolled.”

Callakoppen highlighted the role of brokers in the healthcare environment.

“With the healthcare landscape evolving, your role as trusted advisers is more important than ever,” he said. “Members rely on you to navigate this ever-changing terrain. You empower individuals and corporates to make informed decisions that directly impact their health and well-being.”
