Countdown to CPD deadline: MBSE has essential courses for FSPs and key individuals

Posted on 2 Comments

With only two weeks left until the current CPD cycle ends, time is running out to complete your hours.

Moonstone Business School of Excellence (MBSE), a recognised CPD provider, offers a variety of programmes to help FSPs, key individuals, and representatives gain the necessary CPD hours. These include online courses, events, and publications.

FSPs, key individuals, and representatives must maintain the necessary competence to offer the financial services they are authorised to provide. To do this, they must meet the minimum Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.

It’s important to ensure that the CPD activities you choose are relevant to your roles and responsibilities. These activities should enhance your skills, knowledge, expertise, and professional and ethical standards. They should also address any gaps in:

  • your technical knowledge;
  • your understanding of the financial services environment;
  • your knowledge of applicable laws; and
  • your knowledge of changes to internal and external conditions relevant to the financial products you are authorised to handle.

MBSE’s offerings start at R57 and include more than 80 courses, providing between 0.5 and 9.5 CPD hours, depending on the course.

To make it easier to find the right one, MBSE’s range of courses is categorised as follows:

  • Regulatory environment – changes in the financial services environment, and knowledge and understanding of applicable laws in the financial services sector.
  • Ethics – ethical standards required in the financial services sector.
  • Technical – professional best practice in terms of provision of financial services, and generic knowledge and understanding of the environment and financial products for which you are authorised.
  • Business skills and abilities – best practice in terms of soft skills and managing your practice.
