I found the following information on the Inseta website:
The FSB announced a further extension to the deadline for the Level 1 Regulatory Exams for those candidates who wrote before 30 June 2012, but did not pass. The deadline for passing the exams is now 31 March 2013. Please note that this extension applies only to Financial Advisors who fall into this category.
INSETA, in partnership with the FSB, would like to assist these Advisors in preparing for their rewrites by conducting free seminars nationally. The seminars will focus on:
- Examination techniques for successful completion of the multiple-choice questions in the paper.
- “Problem areas” identified from analyses of examination records of learners who failed.
The seminars will run in early 2013 and the following topics will be covered:
- The structure of the questions
- How to analyse each question
- Selecting the correct answer
- Using the time available wisely
- Learning for the exam
Registration forms for attendance of the FAIS seminars, can be found on the INSETA website. Interested candidates can register for the seminars at: www.inseta.org.za or by phoning the INSETA call centre at 086 113 0013 on or before 16 November 2012.
We trust that these workshops will play an important role in helping candidates, particularly from a perspective of restoring their confidence. We have spoken to some seriously despondent people recently, and anything that can help them tackle the exams in a positive frame of mind, is to be welcomed.
If you intend making use of this offer, please bear in mind that waiting until next year also reduces the time available to pass before the final deadline. If the seminars are run early in the new year, it means that you still require an additional two weeks to register for the exam, then another week or ten days to receive your results. If you are again unsuccessful, it cuts the time very fine to write and pass before the final deadline.
