How the new employment equity rules impact your business

Posted on Leave a comment

Do you know how the recent amendments to the Employment Equity Act (EEA) will affect your business? Do you know how to adapt your employment equity plan and recruitment practices to bring them into line with these changes?

Moonstone Compliance’s webinar on 12 February will take you through the implications of the amendments and their impact on your workplace’s employment equity strategy.

The Employment Equity Amendment Act of 2022 introduced changes to the EEA with effect from 1 January 2025. One of the most noteworthy amendments is the new definition of “designated employer”. Only employers with 50 or more employees will be required to comply with Chapter 3 of the EEA. The amendments aim to achieve faster transformation in a designated employer’s workforce. This is achieved through various amendments to Chapter 3, which deals with affirmative action.

Andrea de Jongh, Moonstone Compliance’s employment law specialist, will bring you up to speed with how the amendments affect the EEA – what has changed, what has stayed the same, and the Amendment Act’s core definitions and guiding principles. She will also unpack the draft regulations to the EEA (as amended).

Andrea will provide practical guidance on implementing a designated employer’s employment equity strategy in light of the changes to the EEA, and the steps a designated employer must take to prepare for the pending sectoral determinations.

After attending this webinar, you will:

  • Understand what you need to do differently when drafting your employment equity plans and implementing your recruitment practices.
  • See employment equity as a positive development for an organisation.
  • Appreciate that employment equity can favourably influence a business’s strategy.

This informative webinar will take place on Wednesday, 12 February, from 10am to 11.30am on Microsoft Teams.
