Popular regulatory update workshop for FSPs in February

Moonstone Compliance, in conjunction with Moonstone Business School of Excellence, will host its popular annual regulatory update workshop on Thursday, 24 February.

This year, the workshop will be hosted as a webinar. It will run from 9am to midday.

Although it may seem that regulatory changes have been stagnant during the lockdown, this is not the case. A number of regulatory changes have occurred, a number of changes are being proposed, and the FSCA is slowly but surely continuing to move towards a “post-COFI” world.

As has become the custom at our regulatory update webinars, we will recap the important changes before looking at the imminent changes on the regulatory roadmap. The recap will cover the General Code of Conduct, the Policyholder Protection Rules, replacements, and rider benefits on funeral products. We will move on to looking at the Conduct of Financial Institutions Bill and the regulation of crypto assets.

The new way of conducting business in an electronic and remote world has raised a number of issues regarding privacy, IT risk management and cybersecurity. All of this is complicated by the Protection of Personal Information Act. We will also discuss POPIA specific to the FSP, with a focus on Condition 7 (Security Safeguards) and how this correlates with the Draft Joint Standards regarding IT Risk Management and Cybersecurity and Cyber Resilience.

The latest Allianz Risk Barometer found that cyber perils are the biggest concern of companies around the world this year.

The workshop will be of great value to key individuals, representatives, compliance officers and internal legal officers. Those responsible for operations management, general risk management and marketing will also definitely benefit from attending.
