Candidates are required to successfully complete the applicable level 1 Regulatory Exam by 30 June after expiry of 24 months from the date of first appointment as representative.
In practical terms, this means that those appointed between 1 January 2014 and 30 June 2014 will be required to complete the RE 5 before 30 June 2016.
Please do not delay writing until the last minute. Many candidates do not pass at the first attempt. If this happens to you, your employer will be forced to debar you, or remove you from the representative register, which means you cannot work until you have passed the RE 5.
Regulatory Exams in the UK
Moonstone has scheduled an exam in London on 17 March 2016. Those wishing to write should please contact Marietjie Grant via faisexam@moonstoneinfo.co.za urgently to register before the deadline.
There is no guarantee of another opportunity to write in the UK before the 30 June 2016 deadline.
