Moonstone Compliance will host two free webinars on the Employment Equity Act (EEA) in August and September.
Andrea de Jongh, Moonstone Compliance’s privacy governance and employment law specialist, will present the webinars.
Getting to know the Employment Equity Act
Wednesday, 23 August, from 10am to 12.30pm on Microsoft Teams
The EEA obligates a designated employer to consult with its employees. De Jongh will empower attendees to participate in a meaningful consultation process towards reaching a designated employer’s employment equity goals. By the end of this webinar, both employees who represent a designated employer on a representative committee and management will have a working knowledge of the EEA. This will enable them to draft an employment equity plan, identify barriers to equitable representation, identify affirmative action measures, and determine numerical goals and targets.

Understanding your obligations under the Employment Equity Act
Wednesday, 6 September, from 10am to 12.30pm on Microsoft Teams
The main objective of this webinar is to provide attendees with an understanding of the obligations the EEA imposes on a designated employer, or any employer that chooses to report voluntarily on its progress towards equitable representation in its workforce. De Jongh will empower attendees to participate in a meaningful consultation process towards identifying barriers to employment equity and affirmative action measures to address those anomalies, which will aid a designated employer in reaching its employment equity goals.

The webinars are open to anyone who would like to join, but employees of a designated employer will find the sessions especially empowering. Currently, any business with more than 50 employees is deemed to be a designated employer.
Registration for the first webinar, on 23 August, closes on Monday, 21 August.

There are 2 CPD hours per webinar (4 CPD hours can be accumulated by attending both webinars).
